Archive

A look back at earlier works, collaborations, and one-of-a-kind pieces that shaped the evolving world of Sophie Tiné. This archive traces a path through experiments in form, texture, and attitude pieces that explore the boundaries between strength and fragility, rawness and refinement.

Each project captures a distinct moment in time: handmade shoes and accessories created in close dialogue with designers, artists, and fashion houses. Together they reflect a continuous search for meaning in craftsmanship a way of shaping materials, emotion, and memory into something lasting.

Collaboration with Tess van Zalinge – natuurlijk

For the natuurlijk collection by Tess van Zalinge, I created a series of artisanal sneaker-style shoes crafted from reclaimed wooden clogs. Each pair was made by hand: the clogs were split, shaped and transformed into soles, with the natural lines and markings of the original wood carefully preserved. The result is a modern reinterpretation of traditional craftsmanship where every sole tells a story of transformation and care.

The natuurlijk collection was developed in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and launched during Amsterdam Fashion Week 2022. The debut took place in the  Amsterdam museum, surrounded by paintings. The shoes were later also showcased at the iconic Palazzo Francesco Turati during Salone del Mobile in Milan.

natuurlijk explores the tension between the enduring beauty of nature and its increasing fragility a theme echoed in the material transformation of the wooden clogs into contemporary footwear.
